Leaf: Our neighbours were slowly, steadily, stealthily and frustratingly stealing all our green mangoes, so today we took drastic action and collected the rest. We were able to give about 7 kilo's away to our friends and household so they can all make green mango pickle. We kept a few to add to our dahl. I won't make mango pickle this year. (Varanasi, India)

Rae: A week of road work means a lot of entertainment, not just for my boys, but for all the neighbors who stand and watch. Also, the digger had a Che Guevara sticker on the back. (Pai, Thailand)

Leaf: Let us make no mistake…you are not being offered a 'home away from home' just a roof over your head. (Varanasi, India)

Rae: Sometimes when I'm working on a drawing I make my kids pose for me. This time, Kenya had to pretend she was picking up a tomato so I could see what her back looked like. (Pai, Thailand)

Leaf: I couldn't resist stopping and buying some freshly roasted Lai (puffed rice). It's nice with fresh coriander, chopped tomato, lime and onions and spicy peanuts. (Varanasi, India)

Rae: While Chinua was in the hospital, these men came over to build a bamboo wall to make a little bedroom for Kai. They finished in a day. A day! (Pai, Thailand)
