Leaf: These two cousins are busy working on a tree house and fort. (Barrington, Australia)

Rae: We went down to one of the neighborhood where Chinua lived when he stayed with his grandmother, and he pointed out the building where they sat and waited for their laundry. It's closed now, but the sign is still there. (Ps: I love that you're in Spring and I'm in Fall.)  (Detroit, USA)

Leaf: Five O' Clock this morning…but this picture needs a soundtrack…there were songbirds everywhere with beautiful voices. (Pokolbin, Australia)

Rae: Two men fishing in the Detroit River. They had just reeled in a green bass when I took this picture. (Detroit, USA)

Leaf: One of my favourite roads to drive along is 'The Bucketts Way', slowly the conversation changes to be more philosophical and removed from the practicalities of life on this country road. This is one of the sweet scenes we drove past. (Stroud, Australia)

Rae: Any takers? Has Brendan been hankering for a tattoo perhaps? (Detroit, USA)

Leaf: Who would have thought that in a waiting room full of retired Aussie farmers I'd be transported back to my beloved India? (Barrington, Australia)

Rae: There are possibly more than 45,000 abandoned or burned houses in Detroit. It is a completely unique city, a collection of the shells of homes, often beautiful and decayed. Some blocks have one or two occupied houses on them. I've never been anywhere quite like Detroit, where my husband grew up. (Detroit, USA)
