Leaf: One of the most beautiful voices alive today. This is Pandit Uday Bhawalkar singing Raag Lalit at the Drupad Mela this morning. His voice is a clear pond, his notes are as straight as arrows into blue sky and then like a water bird diving. I am so inspired. 'Kya bat hai?' (Tulsi Ghat, Varanasi, India)

Rae: As I drove across this bridge, dozens of kites (birds) were gathered above, soaring on the warm air coming from the river, rising and falling and diving, over and over again. I stood underneath and watched for a long time, until I felt like a bird myself. (Siolim, India)

Leaf: These are my Uni friends Vibhadi and Moni, doing some last minute study before our music theory exam. (Varanasi, India)

Rae: What's not to love about this? Pink and red, which is not taboo in India, a post office, and more hand-lettered writing. A feast for the eyes. (Korgao, India)

Leaf: I heard that in Mexico, when the light streaks down like this, they say it is the finger of God. In that case, this is our own Varanasi Michelangelo 'Creation of Adam' moment. Kind of. (Varanasi, India)

Rae: Stilt-walkers at the Carnival parade. The one with pants on had Solo completely fooled. He thought it was the tallest man he'd ever seen. (Arambol, India)
