(A Friendship in Pictures)

Leaf: We were given some raw milk from Yamuna the cow, this is it after I pasteurized it. Delicious! (Varanasi, India)

Rae: We went to a fishing and swimming spot for Song Kran the other day, and the kids all jumped into the river. I sat on the bank with Isaac and watched Lisu people having a picnic blast in tiny salas on the water. (Vieng Neur, Thailand)

Leaf: Welcome to the little dancing baby in my womb. Welcome. (Varanasi, India)

Rae: My kids wait all year for Song Kran, and the festival just ended. We had three days of water play: buckets of ice water thrown on us by groups of Lisu tribe women in the backs of trucks, ice water thrown by sweet old Thai ladies, water gun fights with Thai kids and travelers, water thrown over a temple wall by a young monk, and water in my face while I was driving my scooter.

Leaf: A line of empty boats on the river Ganges. (Varanasi, India)

Rae: It was one of those days, and in the afternoon I couldn't get the pump to work so I could water the garden at the Shekina space. But then there they were, cracks of thunder and a real live rainstorm. God watered it for me. (Pai, Thailand)

Leaf: The 'River Ashram' Upper Room. Artist: Anke Klevjer (my amazing sister). (Varanasi, India)

Rae: Another donut shop pic. This man chatted with me while we waited for the donuts to come out of the oil. I liked his combination of scarves and pants. (Pai, Thailand)

Leaf: Waiting for breakfast to cook. (Varanasi, India)

Rae: This lovely man is the friendliest donut seller in Pai. He makes the non-sweetened Pa Thong Go that we like to eat every so often. He also makes fresh soy milk, and if you like, you can break the donuts up and eat them out of a bowl of soy milk. (Pai, Thailand)

Leaf: If I see a badge or balloon or sticker with the colours of the Indian flag it is VERY DIFFICULT for me to resist buying one. I was proud to hang one of these from my scooter mirror. I love my India! (Varanasi, India)

Rae: This is an agricultural forest of teak trees in a stark time when they have no leaves. They are still beautiful. (Pai, Thailand)

Leaf: This is the most magnificent tree on the property where I live. Upon further investigation, I should say 'trees' as it is a 'Pilkhan' tree and a 'Peepal' tree growing together. (Varanasi, India)

Rae: I was walking back from delivering the chariot (our motorbike sidecar) for some iron welding repair and I saw this new piece of street art. (Pai, Thailand)
