Leaf: The cheapest dinner at the night market- 10,000Kip ($1.30) for a plate as high as you can pile it. (Luang Prabang, Laos)

Rae: One amazing thing about our beaches is the driftwood. Because we have so many forests, there are piles of beautiful silvered driftwood on the shores of British Columbia, my province. (Victoria, Canada)

Leaf: This is a portrait of the manager of our guesthouse's father. I walk past it every day and am utterly fascinated by it; the quizzical eyebrows, the slightly pursed lips, the impeccable dress sense. (Luang Prabang, Laos)

Rae: There are ziplines going into the lake in so many playgrounds around the Okanagan lake. I love the moon behind Kenya as she flies over the water. (Kelowna, Canada)

Leaf: Goats on leads taking their humans home before dark. (Luang Prabang, Laos)

Rae: My sister and friends hosted while Chinua held a concert. It was beautiful, with the mountains and orchards as a backdrop. He has sung in so many amazing places around the world. We are so blessed. (Kelowna, Canada)

Rae: One more sister pic. My lovely sister on her scooter, which is her transportation for as much of the year as possible. (Not when it's snowy.) We drove around together and it was so much fun. (Kelowna, Canada)

Leaf: Guest photographer: Brendan. We had breakfast with the locals in the market today. (Luang Nam Tha,  Laos)

Rae: Chinua and I were married under this tree nearly thirteen years ago. We took the kids there to see our spot, (surrounded on all sides by water, so beautiful!) and I can't remember whether it was Kenya or Leafy who called it the tree of life. They all sprang from that moment when we said we would love each other forever. (Oyama, Canada)
